The sea cucumber is essentially composed of water. Given its low fat and sugar content, its protein content is interesting. Its lipid profile is dominated by Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. The vitamin- and mineral-related data show the sea cucumber to be a good source of vitamins B2 and B3, magnesium, selenium and zinc. It is also high in vitamin A, iron, iodine, potassium and carotenoids.
